Completed around 1602, originally commissioned by the Roman nobleman Ciriaco Mattei, it is housed in the National Gallery of Ireland, Dublin. It depict the arrest of Jesus Christ. Aside from Caravaggio's mastery of lighting , color and shade , the story of the painting's disappearance and recent discovery are notable. Considered lost by the late 18th century, the painting's whereabouts were unknown until 1990, when it was recognized in the residence  of the Society of Jesus in Dublin.Complicating this was the fact that there are at least 12 known copies of "the taking of Christ" in all. There are 7 figures: from left to right we have John,Christ, Judas, 3 soldiers and a man holding a lantern to the scene. They're standing, Judas has just kissed Jesus to identify him to the soldiers. The main light source is not evident but it comes from the upper left.

Marie Curie was a Polish scientist who won a Nobel prize in both Chemistry and 

Physics. She enabled radioactive isotypes to be isolated for the first time. During the 

First World War, Curie developed the practical use of X-Rays and she also 

discovered two new elements. Her work was made more remarkable because of the 

discrimination which existed against women in science at the time. She was the first 

female professor at the University of Paris and broke down many barriers for 

women in science. She was born on 7 November 1867, Warsaw Poland. She was the youngest of five children and was brought up in a poor but well-educated family. At an early age she became committed to the ideal of Polish independence from Russia She yearned to be able to teach fellow Polish woman who were mostly condemned to zero education.

Unusually for women at that time, Marya took an interest in Chemistry and Biology. Marya went to Paris, where after working as a governess she was able to study at the Sorbonne, Paris. Struggling to learn in French, Marya threw herself into her studies, leading an ascetic life dedicated to education and improving her scientific knowledge. She went on to get a degree in Physics 

It was in Paris that she met Pierre Curie,He was a renowned Chemist. Pierre asked her to marry him, Marya initially refused but, after persistence from Pierre, she relented.

Marie pursued studies in radioactivity, this led to the discovery of two new elements like polonium or radium .

Radium was discovered to have remarkable impacts. It was from this discovery of radium and its properties that the science of radiation was able to develop. It was found that radium had the power to burn away diseased cells in the body

The Curries agreed to give away their secret freely;

For their discovery, they were awarded the Davy Medal (Britain) and the Nobel Prize in Physicsin 1903. Marie Curie was the first woman to be awarded a Nobel Prize.

In 1906, Pierre was killed in a road accident, leaving Marie to look after the laboratory and her two children. Irene won the Nobel Prize in Chemistry in 1935, jointly with her husband.

In 1911, she was awarded a second Nobel Prize in Chemistry for the discovery of actinium and further studies on radium and polonium.

The success of Marie Curie also brought considerable hostility, criticism and suspicion from a male-dominated science world. 

The onset of World War I in 1914, led to Marie Curie dedicating her time to the installation of X-ray machines in hospitals. By, the end of the First World War, over a million soldiers had been examined by her X-ray units.

Curie was also proud to participate in the newly formed League of Nations, through joining the  International Commission for Intellectual Cooperation in August 1922.

Marie Curie was known for her modest and frugal lifestyle. She asked any financial prizes to be given to research bodies rather than herself.

Marie Curie died in 1934 from Cancer. 

Marie Curie pushed back many frontiers in science, and at the same time set a new bar for female academic and scientific achievement.

Finger counting or dactylonomy is the counting along one's fingers. It can also serve as a form of manual communication ,it varies between cultures and over time.For example people from North America and UK will raise their right index ,middle and ring fingers to signal number 3,  Europeans to signal the number 3 will raise their middle,ring and thumb. In China and Japan they can count from 1 to 10 with one single hand.

Eye contact: is the most important contact there is,happy couple make plenty of it.

Full body hugs: is when people hug with their full bodies,it's a sign of warmth and closeness.

Arm around : means support and strength .

Pointing feet: when a man or a woman is interested in someone,they point at them with their feet, while they're standing or even sitting.

Opposite ends: sitting at opposite ends of a table puts you in competition, over who's the boss,if only a subconscious level.

Hold the purse: asking a man to hold her purse means a woman trusts him a lot.

Baring teeth: if he's baring teeth or jabbing his finger at your chest, he may be unconsciously trying to threaten you, even if he doesn't actually touch you.

             HIGH SCHOOL CHANGES "SEXIST" WOMEN'S STUDIES COURSE.

A school in Canada has been criticized online for its women's studies course.Critics thought it had sexist subjects that were unfit for women in 21st century. these included "polite conversation", dinner party etiquette and "nail application skills". The course did also have lesson on web design, the role of women in history and beauty in the media.A leading critic wrote that this is unbelievably sexist, women's studies is not fashion and putting on a lunch. She said the course looked like it was from 1950s. Another critic said it was very offensive and disrespectful.The school has now removed the subjects. A spokesman said that it looks like we're supporting stereotyping girls.

INTERNATIONAL WOMEN'S DAY

International Women's Day is celebrated on March 8 every year. It commemorates the movement for women's rights.In Italy, to celebrate the day, men give yellow mimosas to women.Communist politician Teresa Mattei chose the mimosa in 1946 as the symbol of IWD in Italy because she felt that the French symbols of the day, violets and lily-of-the-valley, were too scarce and expensive to be used effectively in Italy.

The women's strike was a worldwide protest, it started in January, but on March 8 women and men partecipated to " A day without a woman", a movement that seeks to show the vital role women play in both the domestic and global economy. It also aims to bring attention to the lower wages, sexual harassment, discrimination and job insecurity that women often face. Those taking part are encouraged to take te day off from paid or unpaid work, avoid shopping for one day and wear red  ( which was chosen because it signifies love and sacrifice and it is the colour of energy).

Instagram is an online mobile photo-sharing site that allows its users to share pictures and videos. Originally a distinctive feature was that Instagram had photos in a square shape and users can also apply digital filters to their images.Instagram was created by Kevin Systrom and Mike Krieger and it was launched in October 2010 as a free mobile app. In 2011, Instagram added hashtags(#) to help users discover both photos and each other. The service was acquired by Facebook in 2012. On August 2016 Instagram launched a new feature called "Instagram stories", it allows users to share photos and videos which disappear after 24 hours, then Instagram added also live video.
